About the Author
Jessie Wilson is originally from Toronto, Ontario but moved to Yellowknife (on Chief Drygeese Territory, the traditional homeland of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation) in 2014. This is her first children’s book which she wrote as a dedication to the memory of her late dog, Gabby. She continues to take daily walks during the winter on the route described in this book, accompanied by her new dog Puddles and any free-roaming bay dogs that happen to tag along.
About the Illustrator
Katie O'Beirne is a self-taught illustrator and graphic artist. Inspired by the land and the lake surrounding Yellowknife, and by the vibrant arts community in the northern city, she started painting, drawing and creating.
